NYC’s March weather has been unpredictable, to say the least! With temperatures jumping from the 40s to 70s, to talk of snow showers, it’s hard to believe that Spring is in the air when checking your weather app. To make the gradual transition into the new season, I was happy to team up with Hart Schaffner Marx who were gracious enough to fit me for a custom American made to measure suit. I decided upon a superior 2 button moss green silk suit (more Don Draper than the Joker,) with a brown paisley lining and a cuffed pant for a sophisticated feel. In customizing this suit, I wanted to create something that could take me through the change in seasons and also, from business to pleasure. In doing so, I styled the suit 3 different ways to show you in versatility.

Enjoy below!

FIRST LOOK.

The Classic Man. This look is all about timelessness and an enduring masculinity. This is a personal style that reflects responsibility and the balance between the creative artist and the career man. The classic fit of the suit is perfect for a business or more formal setting, while the color choice still shows a clear point of view. Green is also a color which appears in all form during each season. The shade highlights the budding of new life in the Spring, the vibrance of Summer, the muted hues that develop in Fall and the richness of texture and contrast in Winter.

SECOND LOOK.

Kill Them with Cool. For this take of styling, I really wanted to emphasize ease with an attitude. For a relaxed look, this laid back approach to dapper-wear features a t-shirt, fedora and sneakers. The addition of these more informal pieces gives the suit an edgy yet playful vibe. This style and attitude towards suiting has become a real staple in my wardrobe. I have long been someone who admires the dandy lifestyle and wears suits for all occasions. However, streetwear and the chicness of a more relaxed vibe are also a huge part of me. I like that with this look, the suit almost takes a backseat and bleeds into the overall monochromatic scheme, allowing the t-shirt to take center stage.

THIRD LOOK.

Highs and Lows. There is nothing more confident than this suit jacket paired with jeans. This look is about a rested, self-assured point of view. It's determined to stand in opposition to the expected but does so in a way that isn't too serious. This look is all about juxtaposition and placing opposites side by side. The boldness of the classic denim is both elevated and also quieted by the soft tones in the suit jacket. This is the best example of a day to night look, as it easily goes from business lunch to drinks with friends without modification.

I hope you've enjoyed my take on the versatility of this Hart Schaffner Marx custom fit suit. For more information on how to design your own custom, American made suit, visit HERE.
